Released by the Department of Art Studies in the early 1990s, the Art Studies Journal (ASJ) is set to be relaunched at the UP Vargas Museum on the 21st of March 2024.
Devised as one of the Department’s discursive platforms for critical perspectives and methodologies on doing art studies, the journal aligns with the department’s
commitment to a humanistic and interdisciplinary approach and to the decolonization of
art, which have been its response to dominant Euro-American epistemologies and
practices in the discipline.
With this event, the 1st issue of the journal’s 3rd volume will be introduced through a public forum on it’s history, alongside reflections on the concepts that the journal has dwelled upon during its earlier issues.
