Later in the ceremony, BA Art Studies major Lianne Bidasari Palmenco received the 2019 Gawad Antonio Mercado Abad para sa Pinakamahusay na Tesis (Di-graduwado) for “Towards a Feminist Approach to an Ecology of Images: Selected Works by Five Women Artists from the Bicol Region”.

Congratulations to Prof. Purissima Benitez-Johannot, editor of the book “The Life and Times of Purita Kalaw Ledesma,” and Prof. Patrick Flores and Prof. Eileen Legaspi-Ramirez, who wrote articles for the book. The book was recently named Best Book on Art at the National Book Development Board’s 37th National Book Awards.
Prof. Benitez-Johannot is Lecturer at the Department of Art Studies. Prof. Flores and Prof. Legaspi-Ramirez are Professor and Assistant Professors in the department, respectively.
