The UP Vargas Museum invites everyone to the book launch of Frisson: The Collected Criticism of Alice Guillermo, edited by Patrick Flores and Roberto Paulino, and published by the Philippine Contemporary Art Network (PCAN). The launch is on 27 February, Thursday, 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm at the UP Vargas Musuem, 1F West Wing Gallery.

Frisson is an anthology of the critical essays of Alice Guillermo, one of the country’s most prolific and sharpest annotators of creative forms broadly conceived as art and their dynamic relationship with an equally encompassing social sphere. It is one of the projects by the Philippine Contemporary Art Network. The Philippine Contemporary Art Network is a recently initiated public institution for contemporary art. In its preliminary phase, it focuses on three activities: Knowledge Production and CirculationExhibition and Curatorial AnalysisPublic Engagement and Artistic Formation. It endeavors to activate a network to coordinate a range of interventions in contemporary art in the Philippines and to cast a sharper profile for it on an inter-local and trans-regional scale.
