Professors Emeritae Talks Held in Celebration of Department’s 60th Year

The Department of Art Studies has launched its 60th year with lectures from our professors emeritae. The lectures historically locate the work of our mentors within the discipline of Art Studies to identify emerging directions in our scholarship and advocacies. The lectures were as follows:

  • Professor Emerita Brenda Fajardo, PhD: “Why I Teach”
  • Professor Emerita Elena Mirano, PhD: “Art and Spirit”
  • Professor Emerita Norma Respicio, PhD: “Evaluating Philippine Traditional Arts”

“From Humanities to Art Studies” consolidates institutional memory through discussions on research and trajectories of practice alongside reflections from mentors and colleagues.
